Eurovision song contest 2014

I could have sworn I made a topic for this year's contest, but I can't find one so-

For anyone who doesn't know about Eurovision, it is an annual song contest amongst European countries. Each country selects a single act to represent them. The UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and last years winner(And therefore the host country for the current year) all automatically qualify for the final, whilst all other entrants must first go through one of two semi finals.

Once all acts have performed in the final, everyone from all Europe may call in to vote for their favourites, and these viewer votes are combined with the votes from an official jury for each country. And these votes are then distributed with each country giving 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 12 points out to different countries(The current record for most points was by Alexander Rybak, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with 387 points). The winner, of course, is the one who receives the most points and this also wins their country the right to host the contest for the next year.

The Eurovision song Contest will be taking place this year in Denmark after Emmelie de Forest's win last year with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]!

The motto for this year is '#JoinUs' following the inspirational and togetherness of recent themes, with previous year's being "We are One", "Light your fire!", "Feel your Heart Beat!" and "Share the Moment".

After last year was quite fun when a couple of our members managed to watch the show together, we figured it would be fun to do the same this year!
This year's semi finals will take place on Tuesday the 6th of May, and Thursday the 8th of May. The final will be on Saturday the 10th of May!
So! If possible try to keep those dates free, or at least the 10th so that we can watch the final together!
The shows are streamed live online, and I will be able to get a link for you guys closer to the date.

I've realised it's less than a week now until the semi-finals begin! So I thought I should raid about for some more specific info for those of you who want to watch one or more of the shows!

Semi-final 1:
Tuesday 6th of May.
9PM CET/8PM GMT/3PM EST
The countries participating in this semi-final are - Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Estonia, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Moldova, Netherlands, Portugal, Russia, San Marino, Sweden, Ukraine.
The participating countries can vote in the semi-final.
The Auto-qualifying countries voting in this semi-final are - Denmark, France, Spain.

Semi-final 2:
Thursday 8th of May.
9PM CET/8PM GMT/3PM EST
The countries participating in this semi-final are - Austria, Belarus, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland.
The participating countries can vote in the semi-final.
The Auto-qualifying countries voting in this semi-final are - Italy, Germany, UK.

Grand Final:
Saturday 10th of May.
9PM CET/8PM GMT/3PM EST
The countries participating in this semi-final are - Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and the top 10 countries from each Semi Final- Adding up to 26 performing songs.
People from all countries can vote in the Grand Final!
